Challenge

UltraSuperNew, an independent creative agency born and raised in Harajuku, gave us an ambitious challenge: to build an interactive megacity that would merge the aesthetics of Tokyo, Singapore, and Taiwan—the cities where they are based. We needed to capture the vibrant, multicultural, and futuristic spirit of these places in a single cyberpunk-inspired virtual metropolis, packed with detail in every corner.

Strategic Solution

We collaborated with teams from Argentina, Japan, Germany, Taiwan, Malaysia, and Portugal to bring this supercity to life. To make it feel alive, we incorporated interactive elements and an interface built around light trails, particles, and smoke—contributing to its vibrant, urban atmosphere. Everything was integrated through a custom CMS in Prismic, allowing editorial control without compromising visual fluidity.We adapted the entire universe into a WebGL format to achieve full immersion.

Results

The result was an immersive experience that invites users to explore the chaos and energy of a futuristic Asian metropolis. With more than 300,000 polygons in play and a fully interactive navigation system, UltraSuperNew’s megacity earned us our first FWA recognition and became a benchmark for how far digital design can go when vision, collaboration, and technology come together.
